The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers will head out on the road to face off against Rose Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Clemens will be strutting in after a victory while Rose Leadership Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
The third road game was the charm for Mt. Clemens, as they earned their first road win of the season. They claimed a resounding 61-14 win over Ecorse on the road. Mt. Clemens' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
A'Laia Richardson was her usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rose Leadership Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 46-33 to Michigan Collegiate on Friday.
Mt. Clemens' win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Rose Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Mt. Clemens took their victory against Rose Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 42-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Clemens since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
