The Southeast Alamance Stallions will take on the Seaforth Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast Alamance is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Seaforth will be up against a hot Southeast Alamance squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Stallions blew past Graham 22-7 on Tuesday. The Stallions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Southeast Alamance let Anna Thomas and Ava Wheeley run wild. Thomas got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Wheeley went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Lloyd, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seaforth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Jordan-Matthews on Tuesday.
Emma Grace Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Abigail Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Annika Johansson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Seaforth pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southeast Alamance, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both Southeast Alamance and Seaforth just can't seem to miss. The Stallions have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Seaforth struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
