Garinger is 0-5 against West Charlotte since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Garinger Wildcats will be playing at home against the West Charlotte Lions at 7:30 p.m. Garinger comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Garinger had to suffer through a rough 71-31 loss at the hands of Harding University. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garinger in their matchups with Harding University: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, West Charlotte pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between West Charlotte and Independence wasn't particularly close, with West Charlotte falling 76-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (57), West Charlotte still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elijah Littlejohn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Littlejohn is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Blakeney, who scored 14 points.
The losses dropped Garinger to 0-4 and Harding University to 1-2.
Garinger suffered a grim 72-49 defeat to West Charlotte when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Garinger have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
