Green Mountain faced Pomona in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams took  a  25-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
 Despite the  defeat, Green Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Marissa VanGuilder picked up 97 receiving yards and one  TD.
Green Mountain's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Pomona, their victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 5-0.
 Coming up, Green Mountain will head out on the road to  face off against  Golden  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Demons' defense has only allowed 13.4  points per game  this season, so the Rams' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pomona, they have already played their next game,  a  27-12  defeat against The Classical Academy on the 8th.
