Robert Mcdaniel Delivers Best Performance of Season
Robert Mcdaniel produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Hughson to the win on Friday. Mcdaniel wasn't messing around, throwing for 427 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.
The victory for Hughson keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Mcdaniel and Hughson are taking a road trip to take on Orestimba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tommy Sutton Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Sonora had to settle for second even though Tommy Sutton put up the best numbers he has all season. Sutton rushed for 232 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (112.9). He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 69 yards.
Sonora's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1. Sutton and Sonora will take on Ripon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hilmar Gets a Boost from Ellerd in 21-13 Win
Merek Ellerd was a major factor in Hilmar's win over Orestimba on Friday. Ellerd was dynamite, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
Hilmar now has a winning record of 4-3. Ellerd and Hilmar will head out to square off against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hughson Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Malakai Sumter
Hughson picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Malakai Sumter. Sumter turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.
For the year, Sumter has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 76.4 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 44.29 receiving yards per game.
