Baseball Game Preview: Master's Academy Patriots vs. Evanston Wildkits

The Master's Academy Patriots will head out to square off against the Evanston Wildkits at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Master's Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last 13 games.

Master's Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt St. Edward's on Thursday. Master's Academy blew past St. Edward's 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 11 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Cotgreave was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Celano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Evanston didn't have quite enough to beat Loyola Academy on Tuesday and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Wildkits have lost by just one run.

Master's Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Evanston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
