Basketball Recap: Grace Prep Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Grace Prep faced off against Fort Worth Christian on Friday. The Grace Prep Lions fell 51-38 to the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Grace Prep still got an impressive performance from Zaria Howard, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Howard's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Addi Eubanks was another key player, putting up two points along with nine boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Grace Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Grace Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Fort Worth Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Grace Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-46 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 21st. As for Fort Worth Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 38-28 victory against Parish Episcopal on the 20th.
