Softball Recap: Tate's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

There's no place like home for Tate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Escambia Gators on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Aggies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Peyton Womack made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Womack was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kara Wine, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Madison Smillie was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Tate's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Escambia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Tate will head out to challenge Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Escambia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
