The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Island Coast on Friday as LaBelle made off with a 74-52 win. That 22 points margin sets a new team best for LaBelle this season.
LaBelle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alan King jr, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. King jr has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Levi Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
LaBelle's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Island Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaBelle on the road again on Tuesday and play against Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Immokalee and LaBelle are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Island Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Naples Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Naples Classical is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
