Elkhart is 3-0 against Eads since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Elkhart Wildcats will take on the Eads Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Elkhart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Elkhart slipped by Greeley County 39-38. The victory was just what Elkhart needed coming off of a 71-40 loss in their prior matchup.
Elkhart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Brillhart, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brillhart has scored at least 25% of Elkhart's points. Another player making a difference was Madyson Brillhart, who scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Eads took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 win over Hi-Plains.
Eads found their leader in underclassman Anna Wollert, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Lexi Shotton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win got Elkhart back to even at 1-1. As for Eads, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Everything came up roses for Elkhart against Eads when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 60-21 victory. Does Elkhart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eads turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
