Northside and Shaw are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Northside Patriots' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Shaw Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Northside took a serious blow against Columbus, falling 77-48. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Columbus is ranked 165th).
The losing side was boosted by Barrington Adams, who scored 24 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ousmane Nabe, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Shaw was beaten by Russell County 67-38 on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shaw has scored all season.
Northside bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Northside was taken down by Shaw 62-34 in their previous matchup on Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Shaw's Dorian Head, who scored 16 points. Now that Northside knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
