Regina Dominican has gone a perfect 5-0 against Francis W. Parker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Colonels at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Regina Dominican has four straight victories, Francis W. Parker has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Regina Dominican earned a 5-1 win over DePaul College Prep.
Addison Volkers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Clare Levar, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Francis W. Parker came up short against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on Monday, falling 20-2.
Francis W. Parker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sloane Demetriou, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Regina Dominican pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Francis W. Parker, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Regina Dominican hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Francis W. Parker struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Regina Dominican beat Francis W. Parker 16-13 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
