Basketball Recap: Family Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Family Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past the Christian Learning Academy Eagles with a 57-51 victory. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 61-52 defeat.

Family Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javon Garcia out in front who went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points. Garcia continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaysen Francois, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Family Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Christian Learning Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Heritage Christian School the next time they take the court. Family Christian Academy will head out to face Heritage Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th, while Christian Learning Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
