Athens is on a five-game streak of home losses, Climax-Scotts a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Athens Indians will take on the Climax-Scotts Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Athens suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-20 loss at the hands of Colon.
Despite the defeat, Athens got a solid performance out of Heath Tigges, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tigges has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Climax-Scotts came up short against Bellevue on January 9th and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, Climax-Scotts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while Bellevue is ranked 231st).
Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Climax-Scotts, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Athens might still be hurting after the 54-33 loss they got from Climax-Scotts when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Athens have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
