Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Olive). They skirted past the Shidler Tigers 19-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 9, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Dustyn Bruce, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Lane White was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Olive pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Shidler, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Olive will be playing in front of their home fans against Yale at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shidler, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tonkawa at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Tonkawa has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
