Wisconsin Lutheran waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Menomonee Falls Phoenix with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sidney Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zhana Guenther was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Grudzielanek, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Wisconsin Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in five consecutive games.

Wisconsin Lutheran's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Menomonee Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Wisconsin Lutheran has already played their next contest, a 10-3 win against Oak Creek on the 9th. As for Menomonee Falls, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Wauwatosa East on the 9th.
