Christopher is 0-4 against Carterville since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Christopher Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carterville Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Christopher came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Marissa/Coulterville by a score of 44-35 on Monday.
Meanwhile, Carterville beat Hamilton County 59-52 on Monday. Given Carterville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Hamilton County is ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Amayah Doyle, who scored 37 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Carterville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hillary Siemer, who scored eight points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Christopher's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Carterville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.
