Despite the defeat, Perry saw an underclassman step up: Lily Meyers scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Perry's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grand View Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th.
