Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Has No Trouble Against St. Joseph's Academy

St. Pius X barely beat St. Joseph's Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers blew past the Angels 3-0 on Thursday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Angels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

While St. Pius X might've won, it sure wasn't easy: St. Joseph's Academy scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.

Bennett Raterman paced St. Pius X's offense, picking up 20 kills. Raterman got some help from Elena Ruble and her 41 assists. Finally, Raterman was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for St. Joseph's Academy, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9-1.

St. Pius X and St. Joseph's Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Lancers will square off against Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 84). Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Academy (ranked 23rd) will meet the Rebels (ranked 281st) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
