Sherando and Skyline are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Sherando had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Warren County on Tuesday. The Warriors blew past the Wildcats 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyline). They put the hurt on Handley with a sharp 14-7 win on Thursday. The Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 23, 2025 (when they won 14-1).
Kaiden Brown made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cameron Kerns was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Pendleton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Skyline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Sherando is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their record is now 2-5.
Sherando beat Skyline 5-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
