Softball Recap: Lenoir City Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Lenoir City had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt First Baptist Academy on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Reagan Helton and Molly Robinson made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Helton pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Robinson tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At the plate, Helton went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Robinson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. What's more, Robinson posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylee Hanson and Sophie Reed did most of the damage at the plate: Hanson scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Reed scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Langley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Lenoir City's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for First Baptist Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Lenoir City will welcome Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Irish have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for First Baptist Academy, they will head out to take on Concord Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
