The Hedley Owls lost against the Valley Patriots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hedley was dealt a 107-13 loss at the hands of Valley. Hedley has not had much luck with Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Hedley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashlee Holmes. Despite the final result, she scored seven points.
Hedley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Valley, the victory (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hedley will square off against Silverton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silverton will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Valley is on the road again on Tuesday and play against White Deer at 6:15 p.m. on January 9th. White Deer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 892nd, while Valley is ranked 69th).
