Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Western Brown

Western Brown extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 19-2 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the New Richmond Lions a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Broncos have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for New Richmond, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Western Brown since on Wednesday.

For New Richmond's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Catron, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Brown will welcome Harrison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Broncos' favor as the team sits on 20 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Wildcats have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for New Richmond, they will take on Bethel-Tate at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
