The First Academy Eagles had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 29-10 victory over Taylor. That's another feather in the cap for First Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
First Academy was led to victory by Carolina Boque and Avery Weaver. Boque scored 6 points along with 10 steals, while Weaver scored 14 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Kyra Spivey, who scored 3 points along with 5 steals.
Despite the loss, Taylor still got an impressive performance from Nevaeh Armstrong, who scored 7 points.
First Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
First Academy will head out on the road to face off against Redeemer Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taylor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warner Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
