1A District 3 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Chipley moved up to 395 from 429 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 3. The Tigers were able to make move up by besting Freeport 39-13.
Bozeman's dynamic duo of Jacob Martinez and James Jernigan proved tough for Wewahitchka to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Martinez threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns and Jernigan had 50 yards receiving. Christian Flowers helped Bozeman's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
Brandon Whalen was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 153 yards on 22 carries as South Walton defeated the Gators. Joe Ledo-Massy also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Holmes County takes on Chipley. The Blue Devils are in first place, while Chip Harris' team is in third place.
The Tigers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,382 from 9,555. The improvement came about via a 39-13 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
