The Tremont Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Wheeler at home by a decisive 62-43 margin. Tremont has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shawn Burroughs, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burroughs has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Ruffin, who scored 16 points.
Tremont has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Wheeler, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
