Eastern Missouri recap Oct. 30, 2012
North Callaway extended the longest winning streak in Eastern Missouri this week by beating Hermann, 34-14. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Thunderbirds.
Bowling Green was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bobcats defeated Van-Far 42-18.
Montgomery County's dynamic duo of Evan Milner and Colt Ellis proved tough for Hallsville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Milner threw for 40 yards and one touchdown and Ellis had 31 yards receiving. Dylan Skeens helped Montgomery County's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Vance Allen was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 148 yards as North Callaway defeated the Indians. Teammate Justin Menard added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Nick Martin of the Montgomery County is only 34 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Martin has rushed for 966 yards on 104 carries so far this year.
John Klekamp's team moved up to 166 from 216 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Eastern Missouri. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Hallsville 46-0.
