Baseball Recap: Cotter's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cotter's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Decatur Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Will Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wesley Perkey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brayden Adams was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Cotter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cotter moved to 10-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Decatur, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Cotter will host Flippin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
