Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 19 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact the Northfield Norsemen proved on Saturday. They came out on top against Churubusco by a score of 49-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Northfield.
Hannah Holmes was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Baker, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Churubusco still got an impressive performance from Brooklyn Sinclair, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Northfield's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Churubusco, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Northfield will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Churubusco, they will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Westview and three for the Eagles.
