With a playoff game on the line, the Atlantic Eagles rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They managed a 58-52 win over the Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Atlantic.
Elanie Sullard continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. She hasn't dropped below 17 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Teresa Pierre, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayla Midget, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Janiah Suprius, who scored 17 points along with six assists.
Atlantic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Seminole Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Atlantic will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Blanche Ely at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Atlantic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Blanche Ely is ranked seventh). Seminole Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
