Windsor Locks is a perfect 10-0 against Bolton since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Raiders will face off against the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Windsor Locks has three straight victories, Bolton has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Windsor Locks and Somers, and Windsor Locks kept the tradition alive. The Raiders came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 4-0 on Monday. While the Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The result came thanks to Garrett Hinckley's shutout, as he gave up just eight hits.
At the plate, Windsor Locks saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zavier Hunt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Bolton nor East Granby made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 7-6.
Josh Wagner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson AmEnde, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Windsor Locks pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bolton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Windsor Locks' way against Bolton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Windsor Locks made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
