The Millbury Woolies came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over Northbridge. Given Millbury's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Northbridge is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kenny Donnelly, who scored 30 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbury's points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Phillipo, who scored seven points.
Millbury has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Northbridge, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
Millbury will be playing at home against Hopedale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northbridge is on the road again on Thursday and plays Uxbridge at 6:30 p.m. on February 15th. Uxbridge will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Northbridge surely won't give up without a fight.
