While Independence put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Brooklyn. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Hurricanes with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Independence, bringing their record up to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brooklyn, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Independence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hurricanes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
