Softball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Durham Academy last Tuesday, North Raleigh Christian Academy came back down to earth. North Raleigh Christian Academy fell just short of the Cannon Cougars by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Cora Harmsen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sarah Vance was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Harmsen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: North Raleigh Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.

North Raleigh Christian Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cannon, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Coincidentally, North Raleigh Christian Academy and Cannon will both be playing Freedom Christian Academy the next time they take the field. North Raleigh Christian Academy will head out to face Freedom Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Cannon will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
