The Arapahoe Warriors won the last time they faced the Eaglecrest Raptors, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Arapahoe blew past the Raptors 59-34.
Arapahoe was led to victory by Gianna Smith and Liz Gentry. Smith dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Gentry dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexa Leduff, who scored four points.
Eaglecrest's loss came despite strong showings from Jada Bobb and Glorielle Mukeba. Bobb almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, while Mukeba scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Arapahoe's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Eaglecrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Mullen is ranked 13th, while the Warriors are ranked 21st). Eaglecrest's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The timing is sure in Grandview's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Raptors have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
