Make it five blowout wins for the McEwen Warriors this season. They blew past Big Sandy, posting a 70-28 win at home. Given McEwen's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Big Sandy is ranked 404th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Big Sandy still got an impressive performance from Garrett Cagle, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Seth Green, who scored five points.
McEwen pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Big Sandy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
McEwen will head out on the road to challenge McKenzie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in McKenzie's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Big Sandy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Houston County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
