The Holden Eagles were the 49-43 winner over the Carrollton Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Holden received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 57-39 to the Trojans.
Despite the defeat, Holden saw an underclassman step up: Brody Bockover scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Wade Vanmeter, who scored four points.
Holden's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Carrollton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holden will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Knob Noster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Missouri (the Panthers are ranked 203rd, while the Eagles are ranked 496th). As for Carrollton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Minutemen at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 437 points over their last seven matchups.
