Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hinton). They blew past the Cordell Blue Devils 63-38 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Comets brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Hale, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 22 points. Hale continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Vanhuss, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Hinton's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Cordell, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hinton will head out to challenge Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on December 17th. As for Cordell, they will venture away from home to square off against Canute at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canute's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Cordell's offense will have their work cut out for them.
