The Centennial Coyotes's game on Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They slipped by Paradise Valley 38-37. This was payback for Centennial, who suffered a 36-30 loss the last time these two teams met.
Centennial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Akasha Prpich led the charge by scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Prpich has scored at least 25% of Centennial's points. Another player making a difference was Kaleia Young, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Paradise Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Olivia Kollie, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Kollie hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Neha Patel, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Paradise Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ironwood the next time they take the court. Paradise Valley will host Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Centennial will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
