While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, the Los Fresnos Falcons were not quite the Harlingen Cardinals's equal in the second half on Friday. Los Fresnos fell to Harlingen 21-17. Los Fresnos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Los Fresnos still got an impressive performance from Gael Palestina, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Palestina's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Los Fresnos has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Harlingen, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Los Fresnos will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Harlingen, they will face off against Edinburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edinburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 828th, while Harlingen is ranked 411th).
