It was a good run, but the Bentonville Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-38 bruising from Northside. While losing is never fun, Bentonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Northside is ranked third).
It was another big night for Erianna Gooden, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Northside. Gooden hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Hazley Grotjohn was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Bentonville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Northside, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Bentonville will be playing at home against Har-Ber at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Har-Ber knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Bentonville likes a good challenge. As for Northside, they will head out on the road to face off against Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
