Lamar has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Baptist Prep Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Lamar gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They breezed by Central Arkansas Christian at home to the tune of 62-23. Given Lamar's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Central Arkansas Christian is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Baptist Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Perryville by a score of 71-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Baptist Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Everything went Lamar's way against Baptist Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Lamar made off with a 67-46 victory. Does Lamar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Baptist Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
