Even though the Desert Mountain Wolves scored an imposing 97 points on Friday, the Pinnacle Pioneers still came out on top. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Pinnacle made off with a 98-97 win over Desert Mountain. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pinnacle.
Pinnacle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kareem Alkhalifa, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. Tommy Randolph was another key contributor, scoring 27 points along with 6 assists.
Pinnacle's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Desert Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Pinnacle will be playing at home against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Chaparral is ranked 55th, while Pinnacle is ranked 54th). Desert Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sierra Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Sierra Canyon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 444 points over their last five contests.
