Baseball Recap: Fairhope Wins Going Away Against Marengo

Fairhope never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Marengo Panthers 7-0.

Fairhope let Will Sparks and Blake Westry run wild. Sparks scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Westry went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those three runs gave Sparks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rock Gearhart, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Fairhope has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. Marengo dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Fairhope will take on Richmond-Burton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marengo, they will face off against Rogers at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
