1A-2 Region IV District 16 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Bruni extended the longest winning streak in 1A-2 Region IV District 16 this week by beating Benavides, 48-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Badgers.
Bruni took down the Eagles 48-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Derly Carrizales ran for 183 yards and caught one passes for six yards in the win.
Bruni's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Badgers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Oliver Chapa has thrown for 131 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Carrizales has five catches for 83 yards. Chapa also leads the league in rushing with 1047 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Bruni takes on second place Agua Dulce. Arturo Lozano Iv's team bested Benavides last week, while Agua Dulce defeated Lasara.
There should be lots of points scored when the Longhorns and the Badgers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Agua Dulce comes in having scored 103 this season, while Bruni has scored 389. The Longhorns scored 39 points last week as they bested the Lions.
