Baseball Recap: Madison-Grant Has No Trouble Against Frankton

Madison-Grant won the last time they faced Frankton and things went their way on Friday too. The Argylls were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Eagles. The Argylls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Xavier Yeagy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Madison-Grant let Levi Nelson and Luke Gilman run wild. Nelson went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Gilman went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Madison-Grant is undefeated when Nelson posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Tripp Haisley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Madison-Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankton only managed six hits.

Madison-Grant is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Frankton, their record is now 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison-Grant will square off against Eastbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frankton, they will face off against Tipton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
