Valders and Two Rivers are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Purple Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Valders will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Brillion, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings came out on top against the Lions by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Austin Ebert made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Valleskey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cameron Scheffler also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Two Rivers hadn't done well against Kewaunee recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Purple Raiders had just enough and edged out the Storm 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Purple Raiders as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Alex Johnson was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Valders' record now sits at 4-5. As for Two Rivers, their record is now 2-9.
Valders' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Two Rivers, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Valders continue to outrun the ball?
Valders might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Two Rivers in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
