The Kemmerer Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Rich by a score of 33-31. Kemmerer was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rich apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Rich found their leader in underclassman Molly Weston, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jainee Wallentine was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Kemmerer's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5. As for Rich, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Kemmerer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shoshoni at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Shoshoni focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 two weeks ago. Rich won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Farson-Eden at 2:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Farson-Eden is ranked 53rd in Wyoming, while Rich is ranked 62nd in Utah).
