Everything went their way against the Beaver Dam Diamondback on Friday as the Awaken Christian Lions made off with a 21-3 victory. The Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Margaux Burney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Burney was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kaylee Rasmussen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. Rasmussen is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Cailey Velarde, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Awaken Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Awaken Christian pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
