The Scituate Spartans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Hope 27-6. The victory was just what Scituate needed coming off of a 32-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Scituate can attribute much of their success to Charles Grover, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Scituate's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Cole Birmingham and his two sacks.
Scituate's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Hope, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scituate will take on Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Smithfield is ranked 42nd, while Scituate is ranked 43rd). As for Hope, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Davies Career & Tech at 12:00 p.m. Davies Career & Tech is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
